Your options are, Go on a trip that is being organised. The way to go about this is

• Find out about the trip: Posters around campus, email and sms
• Goto the trip meeting, generally in SU202 (the room, matrix for those who don't know where SU is),
• Pay your deposit if you want to go
• Procedures from here depend on the nature of the trip
• Most importantly don't screw the trip leader around, If you can't go (or for that matter don't want to go because you are soft), don't tell them that you can!

The other option, and the far more rewarding one is: Run your own. If you want to go to a river, on a hike or some place on a overland trip, don't expect someone else to do it for you. Running a trip is easy, just chat to someone in the know and they'll give you the low down.
